Carlyle Group Names Samantha Whitney as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

Managing growth key to firm's ongoing success

CHICAGO, Illinois (January 25, 2008) – In a move to support the escalating pace of growth, especially the successful integration of new partners, projects and clients, Carlyle Group has promoted Samantha Whitney to CAO. In this role, Whitney will oversee the firm’s internal communication and business processes, making sure that as the firm continues its pace of growth, clients continue to enjoy the level of personalized service they are accustomed to and value.

Whitney brings years of proven successful experience to the position, having been an integral part of Carlyle’s continuous growth for 10 years. In her previous position as Managing Director, she developed Carlyle’s Competitive Intelligence Practice and has long been the firm’s leader of research services. As CAO, Whitney reports to Ben DeBerry, President. She will focus on maintaining industry “best practices”, make certain communication continues flows effectively between departments, practices and clients, and ensure that the infrastructure is streamlined to keep pace with the growing demands of the firm’s expanding business.
